Cough and bronchitis concerns
A persistent cough can follow airway inflammation, but other illnesses can cause similar symptoms. Antibiotics are not routinely recommended for uncomplicated acute bronchitis.
Common symptoms
- Persistent cough (may be productive)
- Chest congestion or discomfort
- Fatigue
- Sore throat
- Sometimes, a low-grade fever
