Depression support

Low mood or loss of interest can affect sleep, energy and daily life. Support should reflect the severity of symptoms and your existing care.

Common symptoms
  • Persistent low mood
  • Less interest in usual activities
  • Changes in sleep or energy
  • Difficulty managing daily tasks
A useful care conversation

Describe how you have been feeling, how long it has lasted and the impact on daily tasks. If you have an established treatment plan, share medicines, side effects and what is helping. A clinician can discuss coping and the appropriate next level of support; medication changes require an individual assessment.

When to seek more care
  • For thoughts of suicide or urges to harm yourself, call or text 988. Call 911 for immediate danger or a life-threatening situation.
  • Seek prompt assessment if symptoms become severe, suddenly change or make it difficult to function.
